Markus Pettersson is a young and truly talented tenor, a rising star that already has attracted great attention for his beautiful and expansive voice, passionate timbre and expressive stage presence. Markus has a Bachelor and Masters Degree from the University College of Opera in Stockholm and has also studied for three years at Vadstena College. This season he can be seen at Folkoperan in Stockholm where he sings Pong in Turandot. He will also sing Verdi’s Requiem in Gothenburg under Simon Phipps. Among recent roles can be mentioned the leading role Mats in Kronbruden by Swedish composer Ture Rangström, Remendado in Carmen and Gastone in la Traviata, all three at GöteborgsOperan. He has also been engaged at Folkoperan singing Don José in Carmen and Gastone in La Traviata and at Opera på Skäret singing Steuermann in Der fliegende Holländer.
